Skilfully blending fact and fiction, this engrossing dramatisation of Pat Barker's award-winning novel is set in a Scottish army hospital toward the end of WW1, where rudimentary psychiatry is being practised on the shell-shocked victims of trench warfare, including war poets Siegfried Sassoon and Wilfred Owen. A powerful indictment of the futility of war, starring Jonathan Pryce, James Wilby and Jonny Lee Miller.
