A rarely seen masterpiece of British cinema, made by Anthony Asquith at Hepworth's Walton-on-Thames studios, providing a fascinating insight into the world of early movie-making , employing a 'film-within-a- film' format to create a satire on the tacky commercial melodramas of the period.
